The team won their game 6-1 against Plainfield at Fall Fair!! Mia Reyes '18 scored twice(one from a penalty) , Carlin Schildge '17 also scored twice, Destiny Ingram '20 scored once, along with Jane Anderson-Schmitt '20. All the girls showed improvement after the game against Winfield Park but there's always things that need to be worked on! Bunching here and there was an issue and also.. STANDING AND WALKING AROUND**. Its either getting open and being an option or being on your toes because the game is an active one. The refs were being a bit frustrating with some of the calls that were made, but Miss. Tucker showed them the right way to go (; (yay for Coach!!) Audrey Cheng '18 made some awesome passes that day and Julia Parker '19 was a great defender! Sydney Rose '19 did fabulouss at getting to the ball as soon as she could. Great game girls!

Interview with Samantha Anastasiou '17 :
Q: How do you think the game went?
A: I think the game went pretty well. Our performance improved very well from our game against Winfield Park earlier that week. 90% of the time we did a good job of keeping our positions and that helped a lot because Plainfield was the type team that followed the ball and didn't keep their positions. Therefore we had a lot of opportunities to pass wide and shoot the ball.
Q: What do you think the team should work on next practice?
A: Communicating more with each other on the field.
Q: As an 8th grader, what is your goal for the last MS fall sport season?
A: I hope to continue to improve so I am ready for high school soccer next year.

I think we improved a lot from our game against Winfield. I think we should be proud of how we played!:) we still had issues with communication but overall we played very nicely. I think Julia did a great job as sweeper, Jane and Destiny showed good team work up at offense, and Mia had an awesome goal off that penalty kick! We all played really well and if we keep up the good work we will have a lot more wins this season!
ReplyDeleteI think we did a great job as well. It was a great win and I think the ronaldo video/ video of winfield park game really helped.
ReplyDeleteI think that we have progressed individually and as a team. What I mean is that we started of well, but we have had a rough few games. The thing is that through the rough patches of our game, we have been able to come together as a team and get ourselves back up where we should be! Fall Fair was a great boost of confidence!
